Today was one of those days where I needed to schedule in breathing time.
From the moment I got up I was go-go-go. For the record it seems that some nights I don't get any sleep. Last night William woke up around 1am and refused to go back to sleep unless I nursed him. I complied. Then I tried to go back to sleep, but since John was pulling an "all nighter" with his school work I had a hard time sleeping. 4am John started getting ready for work, and I woke up for that. 6:30 my alarm went off. Yeah...I didn't get much sleep.
I did accomplish a lot, though. Post office, mopped floor, cleaned bathrooms, vacuumed, tutored 3 kids all afternoon. Not to mention I have a very active (and headstrong!) little tot under my feet!
I'm trying to get my "chores" assigned to a certain day, so that the vacuuming gets done on a particular day, bathrooms get cleaned on another, etc. but I'm having a hard time doing so. Life just seems to get in the way.
Do any of you have a specific way you get everything accomplished in your week? I'd love to hear any suggestions.
Anyway, my cape has been fluttering all day, and now that I've been sitting here awhile it's getting quite wrinkled. I'll be needing it tomorrow, so I'd best go hang it up for the night.
Have a good one!

Hi~Your cape may be flapping and
everyday may not go as planned, but hang in there as you will get a routine going for this phase of your family's life! Hopefully John's
schooling won't pull too many "all nighters" and you'll have more zz's
but most importantly....this time in your life is going to be just a "brief" experience....choose "one" item each day and anything else will be "gravy"....hugs, GRANNY "A"
Leah,
You ARE wonder woman naturally! ...Able to balance a host of things, with style!!
Give that cape a day off, ok? Send it to the dry cleaner.
Find some time (even if it's a little) for YOU, and you'll be rejuvenated to conquer the rest....
I think we as women try to "tackle the world" sometimes... it's all about prioritizing, finding the BIG things that HAVE TO be done, and trying to enjoy the little moments in life (those that are truly fleeting).
I know -- BELIEVE ME -- easier said than done.
Love ya,
G
PS Do you wear the wonder woman red boots too??!?!? =)
I'M WITH GINA......YOU ARE AMAZING AT WHAT ALLLLL YOU DO!! SEND THAT CAPE TO THE DRY CLEANERS....=)
LOVES YA,
GRANNY "A"
I know how you feel. When all the kids were little I felt like I could never get it 'all' done! Two things helped me .... #1 remembering that 'this to shall pass' ... and #2 I read a great book by Emilie Barnes called More Hours in my Day ... you might wanna check it out, that is, IF you get a moment to yourself :) Luv Ya!
Thank you so much for the congrats! I've enjoyed "meeting" you through your blog and look forward to stopping in more often! I don't ever get everything done in a week - my mom always reminds me that there are seasons in life. :) Sounds like you are superwoman!!! :)
Hi honey,
Wow! what a busy day! I always feel if I have such a successful day, I can take the next one off! Works good for me! Just make a list of all the things you want done, and assign a day/time that works best for you to do it. However, with toddlers, don't figure it will work most of the time. With toddlers, you have to go with the flow!!! One "major" thing a day (and perhaps a "minor" task)you may want to accomplish, and that's about it! By the end of the week, everything will be done! (And you can start all over again the next week...) Hehe! Oh well...
Love ya,
mom

The magic formula I have found is to stop trying to get it all done. Sure, my house is sometimes is a mess. We do sometimes have to pick up toys and books to find a place to sit down, but that's OK. I'm having fun. I'll worry about how the house looks when my kids are grown. What about visitors? If it bothers them to step around toys, they don't have to stop by..........
