Wow

Look what I pulled out of our garden today!  John has been watering the garden the last few days, and obviously it's been at night.  It had been about 4 days since I had been out to the garden, and boy was I surprised to see this baby!
The one on the left is a normal sized zucchini, and the powerhouse one on the right is about the length of my arm.  I'm running out of recipes...twice baked zucchini potatoes, zucchini brownies, zucchini bread...need more recipes!

I have one that is about that big, too! Left it out there to keep growing ... thought it might make a better conversation piece than a food item ... getting tired of them in Idaho, too! :)

What a monster! Something that big needs to be seeded and skinned too, so that will cut some of the bulk down. I hear you on the running out of recipes front. I requested no zucchini growing this year to take a break. I was so sick of the stuff last year. I made lots of zucchini bread and froze them. We have a pretty good zucchini-beef pasta sauce recipe, I'll dig it out and send it to you. Otherwise you can do it cubed and roasted w/onions & thyme, make beer battered zucchini sticks, thinly sliced raw and in a salad, pickled with some onions, or the favorite zucchini boats.

Oh, too bad you are past August 8...that's "Sneak some zucchini onto your neighbor's porch day."

Grilled (BBQ) Zucchini is yummo as is steaming it with Nutmeg. Have you tried that?
