30 Weeks, 9 More To Go!

I was able to drop W off at the neighbor's house yesterday morning while J and I went to the doctor's for my 30 week check-up. (Thank you, P...that is, if you read this! You're the best!) The baby's heart rate is between 135-140 and I am measuring 34 cm.

Since we had peace and quiet, we were able to ask the doctor some pressing questions about the upcoming c-section. I was told that if I go into labor before 36 weeks that all will be done to stop labor; however, if labor happens after 36 weeks the doctor will perform a c-section then.

I was able to schedule the surgery for August 28th, 7am! I should be the first one in the OR that day, and the doctor said that I have a good possibility of getting a private room.

He said that I won't be able to pick W up for the first week after surgery, but after that I should be okay...but the longer I wait and take things easy the faster my recovery should be.

I still have more questions for the doctor, but decided to space them out a little. Besides, it's not like I haven't done this before!

I'm ecstatic that my parents (BOTH of them!) will be here for the delivery! Dad wasn't able to come out with W's birth, but my mom was here shortly after I got out of the hospital. This time they'll both be here to help J and I out with W, which is what I'm concerned about the most. I think our little boy will be going through the biggest change of his short life with the birth of this baby, and I love it that his Grandma and Grandpa will be here for him while I'm in the hospital. Besides, it's just comforting for me to know that they'll be here while I get "cut open" again!

That's all the news for right now. Oh...here's a cute photo of my baby playing the "nano".

We were hoping the help could be staggered, and not all at once. Since my parents missed being here for William's birth (like I said, my dad didn't see him until Christmas!), they both are planning on being here this time for this birth.

I reread what I wrote, and I don't see anywhere where I implied that you weren't involved for W's birth. I wish you wouldn't put words into my mouth/blog.

We are very excited to see everyone, I'm just asking help/company to not be all at once. J won't be around to help (much), due to work obligations, so after my folks leave I'll be on my own. I can handle it, but it would be great to have you both here after them, so I can recover fully. I know, I'm being selfish, but I'm the one having the baby.

Love ya!

How cool that you get to choose your baby's birthday! I'll keep you in my prayers that she doesn't start labor before then...even though I know how hard it is to be HUGE in the summer! I'm right there with ya on that! :)

Wow, lots to think about! You're brave to have your parents & in-laws with you at or so close after the birth. I think I'd go crazy & hormonal with so many people underfoot. So do they cut on the same place as last time or do they choose another place, thus another "war wound"?

Kim - haha...it's funny...with me, I'm not very hormonal after giving birth. Course I've only given birth once! Doctor said he'll cut along the same incision as before. I was very relieved to hear that! Wouldn't want railroad tracks on my tummy!
